Recommendation of the Life-boats Project, by Dan Arnløv Jørgensen,
Chairman, Cultural Region Triangle Area

Marit Benthe Norheim’s Life-boats project is a magnificent artistic vision of how people and regions can be connected. The project crosses borders and creates contact, while also drawing threads back to our past – to the time when the Vikings set out in their ships across Europe’s seas and rivers, bringing Danish goods and customs to distant places and returning with impressions and objects from other cultures.

Even today, Denmark is a great seafaring nation. In the Triangle Region, the port cities of Fredericia, Kolding, Middelfart and Vejle remain in close contact with the rest of the world by water. The Cultural Region Triangle Area therefore warmly recommends Life-boats and is committed to working towards its realization.
This could ideally be achieved in a joint project with the Region of Southern Denmark, the Cultural Region of Funen, and the Cultural Region of Southern Jutland.

With kind regards,
Dan Arnløv Jørgensen
Chairman, Cultural Region Triangle Area
